FAQ
To determine whether the Hear XS Pro is a good fit for your hearing loss, follow these steps:
- Compare your audiogram to the device’s amplification limits
- Ask your audiologist for a recent hearing test showing thresholds (in dB HL) across frequencies, especially 500 Hz–4 kHz.
- The Hear XS Pro delivers up to 40 dB of gain (HFA-FOG50) and a maximum output of 114 dB OSPL90 (111 dB HFA-OSPL90) over a 200–6 205 Hz bandwidth.
- If your hearing loss in the speech frequencies is mild to moderate (≤ 40 dB HL), the XS Pro can provide sufficient amplification.
- Assess feature fit for your listening needs
- It offers 4 user-selectable programs and a digital noise-reduction algorithm—ideal for switching between quiet, conversation, and noisy environments.
- Its dual-microphone adaptive directional system helps focus on speech in background noise.
- If you need Bluetooth streaming or telecoil, note that the XS Pro has no wireless connectivity or telecoil support.
- Trial in real-world settings
- Wear the open-fit thin tube design for several days, testing in your home, office, and outdoors.
- Evaluate speech clarity, comfort of the mini BTE fit, and feedback cancellation.
- Replace wax guards as needed to maintain sound quality.
- Leverage support and return policy
- Use Oxiline’s satisfaction guarantee or trial period to confirm the fit and performance.
- Consult your hearing healthcare professional if you need further fine-tuning or a higher-power device.
If your audiogram falls within the XS Pro’s gain/output range and you find speech clear—with comfort, noise reduction, and feedback control meeting your needs—then the Hear XS Pro is likely the right choice for your level of hearing loss.
Here’s a step-by-step setup guide for your Hear XS Pro on first use:

– Short-press the button to cycle through the 4 presets (e.g., Quiet, Speech in Noise, Music, Outdoor).

To recharge:
- Snap each aid into its matching slot in the charging case.
- Plug the case’s USB-C cable into power.

- You’ll hear beeps indicating which of the four programs you’re in (e.g. 1 beep = Normal, 2 = Restaurant, 3 = Outdoor, 4 = Music).
- Choose “Restaurant” or “Outdoor” when in noisy places, “Normal” for one-on-one conversation, “Music” for listening to music.

- Press the ▼ key once to lower volume, with beep feedback at each level.
- Find a comfortable loudness for each environment (e.g. quieter in a library, louder in a busy cafe).
- Fine-tune in the OTC Clarity app
- Pair your aids via the “OTC Clarity” app.
- Within the app’s interface, select your current program and slide to adjust volume more precisely than using the button alone.
By combining program switching, button-based volume control, and in-app adjustments, you can quickly optimize your Hear XS Pro for any setting.
To keep your Hear XS Pro performing at its best, follow these regular routines:
- Wipe down after each use
• Remove the aids from your ears and, using a soft, dry cloth, gently wipe the housing, ear tubes, and eartips to remove oils and debris. - Clean sound outlets and microphones
• Once a day (or more if needed), use the included cleaning tool to clear wax and lint from the sound outlet and microphone ports—never push debris farther in. - Replace wax guards regularly
• Swap in a fresh wax guard whenever you notice reduced volume or clarity (typically every 1–2 weeks). The guard’s memory feature makes insertion easy—just pull out the old one with the hook and push in a new one until it locks. - Keep charging contacts clean
• Inspect and wipe the metal contacts on both the hearing aids and inside the charging case with a dry cloth weekly. A clean connection ensures reliable charging. - Store properly
• After cleaning, snap the aids into their slots in the charging case—this both protects them and keeps them topped up. Always store the case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat sources. - Avoid moisture and chemicals
• Don’t immerse your aids in water or use solvents/cleaning agents. If they get wet (rain, sweat), let them air-dry fully before storing or charging.
By incorporating these simple steps into your routine, you’ll maintain optimal sound quality, reliable charging, and long-term device health.
Yes. The Hear XS Pro includes a 120-day trial period with a full money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied. Just return the devices within 120 days of purchase for a refund, no questions asked. If you have any issues, contact Oxiline customer support to initiate the return.
If you hear feedback or whistling in your Hear XS Pro, try these steps:
- Check the fit
- Remove and re-insert the eartip, making sure it seats fully (≈13–23 mm) in your canal.
- If it still whistles, swap to a different eartip size for a better seal.
- Reposition the aid
- Gently adjust the thin sound tube and body behind your ear until it sits comfortably and securely.
- Switch listening programs
- Press and hold the button for ~3 seconds to cycle programs; feedback is often reduced in “Restaurant” or “Outdoor” modes.
- Lower the volume
- Press the ▼ key to step down one level at a time until the whistling stops.
- Clean or replace the wax guard
- If wax or debris is clogging the sound outlet, remove the guard with the hook and insert a fresh one.
If feedback continues after trying all of the above, consult the Troubleshooting Guide or contact Oxiline support for further help.
To achieve a secure, comfortable fit for all-day wear, follow these steps:
- Choose the right eartip size
– Try sizes S, M, L, LL or LLL until you find one that fills your ear canal without feeling tight or loose. - Insert to the proper depth
– Gently push the eartip into your canal about 13 mm (up to 23 mm max), using the red line on the tube as a guide. This ensures a good seal without discomfort. - Seat the body behind your ear
– With the eartip in place, lift the thin sound tube over the top of your ear and let the aid’s housing rest gently in the hollow behind your ear. - Adjust tube alignment
– Rotate the sound tube so it follows your natural ear shape. The tubing should lie flat against your head, with no kinks or pressure points. - Verify comfort and stability
– Move your head and jaw (talk, chew) to ensure the aid stays in place and doesn’t pinch. If you feel pressure or it shifts, try a different eartip size or slightly reposition the tube. - Fine-tuning
– If it still feels loose, use the smallest comfortable eartip or an optional ear hook for extra support.
– If you feel pain, remove the aid and try a larger eartip or consult your hearing professional.
Once you’ve got a snug seal in the canal and the tube neatly tucked behind your ear, your Hear XS Pro will stay comfortable and secure throughout your day.
