I was skeptical about infrared sensors but this one has been accurate compared to our mercury backup from grandma’s house. The LED alignment dot is small but bright enough to aim without turning on lights. Wireless mode is perfect when my kid is napping on me. In ear mode is our go to when we need a confirm. I also used object mode to check formula temp in the middle of the night, no more guesswork. Would recommend to friends with little ones.

I keep this device in the kitchen drawer because I use it for more than temps on people. The object setting has been great for checking bath water and reheated soup. In ear readings on my teenager are consistent, usually the same as our clinic’s number. The only quirk is I sometimes forget to switch modes and get a weird number, my fault. Battery door feels snug, not flimsy. Overall works like I hoped.

I bought this for my dad who checks his oxygen every morning. The multicolor screen is surprisingly helpful because he can tell at a glance what is what without hunting for tiny labels. Readings match the nurse’s handheld device within a point or two. The pulse strength bar is a nice touch when his hands are cold, it shows when we need to warm up his fingers first. Set up was nothing, just pop it on and wait a few seconds.
